When is Independence Day celebrated?
Pakistani celebrates their day of independence on the 14th of August every year. In addition, it is Pakistan’s national day. In 1947 it became the first Islamic Republic. Although it was a very difficult task to gain freedom from British rule. But Muslims did it with hard work and struggle day and night. They had to pass through thick and thin. History
From the 18th century, Pakistan was part of the Indian colony. All the nations were living in the subcontinent. Firstly it was the part of East India Company and then became the part of British Indian Empire.
It was the plan of Mountbatten to separate Pakistan from India. Dominion of Pakistan was created in 1947. It covered two geographical areas which are East and West Pakistan. Furthermore in 1971 East Pakistan separated from West Pakistan and became Bangladesh during Bangladesh liberation War.
Pakistan got freedom at midnight between 14 and 15 August. So Pakistan celebrates its independence on 14 and India on 15 August.
Celebration of 14 August
